A new school year is around the corner, but there’s still plenty of summer fun to be had by young and old alike.
Here are a few events happening this weekend around the Kaiserslautern Military Community.
Fantasy and medieval days: Step back in time and let your imagine run wild at the 25th installment of the fantasy and Middle Ages festival in Saarbruecken. This year’s theme is “Fantastic Garden,” highlighting regional artists. Enjoy crafts, live performances, medieval combat and more from Thursday to Sunday evening. Weilerbach wine village: The town of Weilerbach, in cooperation with the Weilerbach soccer club, hosts this year’s wine village festival from Friday through Sunday. Visitors can enjoy live music and wines by several vintners from the German Wine Street. The Wine Queen kicks off the official opening at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The fest is open 6 p.m.-midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 1 p.m.- 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Street food and music festival: Over 20 food trucks will line the Messeplatz in Kaiserslautern Friday-Sunday, offering burgers, international cuisine and sweet treats. Live bands and DJs will accompany the abundance of food and flowing drinks all weekend. long.
Bows and bowties ball: Ramstein Officers’ Club invites both young and old to a magical evening on Friday at 5:30 p.m., where parents and children can dance, laugh and make cherished memories together. Enjoy musical chairs, animal adoptions, and a kid-approved feast of chicken nuggets, macaroni & cheese, drinks and a desserts. Ramstein flea market: The Ramstein Community Center is hosting its monthly flea market on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Shoppers can browse through clothing, accessories, vintage wares and much more. Don’t miss your chance to discover unique finds. For the new school year, ”old school” is cool.
