Where to drink, dance and chill in the KMC this weekend

What are you up to this weekend? From wine-soaked street parties to riverside concerts and all-night festivals in the forest, the Kaiserslautern Military Community is packed with flavor, music and summer energy.

Whether you’re sipping Riesling by the Rhein or catching live country music outdoors, there’s something worth leaving the house for.

Concert on the Lawn: Nashville comes to Ramstein Air Base as country performers Drake Milligan and Chapel Hart take the stage at this open-air show on the Exchange’s north lawn Friday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Grab a drink, hit the food trucks and test your aim at the dunk tank. Free admission.

Diamond jubilee wine festival: Raise a glass in Germany’s oldest city during the 75th iteration of this massive, music-filled wine fest in Trier running Friday and Saturday from 8 p.m., Sunday from 6:30 p.m. and Monday from 7 p.m. Five stages, nonstop entertainment and plenty of local vintages make this a summer standout. Free admission.

Castle festival: Carnival lights, live music and castle views set the mood at this festive summer bash in Saarwellingen, with food and fun Friday from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Family day takes over Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with rides and activities for all ages. Free admission.

Nature One music festival: Dance till dawn (twice) at this all-night music marathon in the wild woods of Hunsrück on Friday 6 p.m. to Saturday 6 a.m., and again Saturday 6 p.m. to Sunday 8 a.m. One ticket gets you into 38 hours of non-stop sound, lights and camping chaos. Tickets from 119 euros.

Riverside wine festival: Toast the season with chilled Riesling and Rhein River views at this breezy weekend wine fest in Nierstein. Festivities kick off Friday at 5 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m., and all day Sunday and Monday starting at 11 a.m. It’s laid-back, scenic, and full of riverside charm. Free admission.
