1.FC Kaiserslautern gets the game day underway Friday at 6:30 p.m., with the first home game of the season.

The Red Devils host Fürth at the nearly sold-out Fritz Walter Stadium. Like Kaiserslautern, the Kleeblätter, or clovers as they are nicknamed because of the club’s emblem, started the season with a win. And like FCK, they beat a league newcomer, Preussen Münster, 3-1.

That put them in second place in the still young second division season. The Red Devils are tied for sixth going into the weekend. It should be an exciting match on the Betzenberg.

Coach Markus Anfang has almost the whole team onboard, the biggest question mark is Ragnar Ache. The striker has been out with Achilles tendon problems but may be fit enough for the bench this weekend.

The Red Devils then have two away games. First up is a German cup game against third league Ingolstadt on Aug. 17, then they play their next league game against Münster on Aug. 24.
