This week’s weather in Kaiserslautern promises a sizzling start with temperatures soaring, bringing potential thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the German Weather Service, DWD.
A high-pressure system over Central Europe is currently delivering very warm to hot and calm conditions across Rheinland-Pfalz, transitioning into stormy conditions by midweek, the service said.
Monday: Expect plenty of sunshine with temperatures ranging from 79 degrees to 86 degrees. The night will be clear and dry, with lows between 62 and 52, dipping to 48 at higher elevations in the Eifel region.
Tuesday: The heat intensifies, with temperatures peaking between 86 and 93. Overnight, temperatures will drop to between 68 and 61, with some areas in the state dropping to 54.
Wednesday: Starting sunny, the day is expected to turn cloudy by the afternoon, DWD said, bringing showers and potentially severe thunderstorms with heavy rain and even hail in some areas. Highs will be between 82 and 91 degrees, cooling down to between 68 and 61 overnight.
Thursday: Expect partly cloudy skies with frequent showers and strong thunderstorms, posing risks of heavy rain, hail, and stormy winds. Daytime temperatures will range from 79 to 86, dropping to between 66 and 61 at night, with higher elevations seeing lows of 55.
