The Red Devils play their biggest game of the season on Saturday night, the German cup final against Bundesliga champion Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

An upset against a team that did not lose a league game all season and is undefeated in the past 51 games, would send 1. FC Kaiserslautern to the UEFA Europe League next season. And that following a disappointing second division campaign.

FCK fans are hoping Leverkusen wins the Europe League final against Bergamo tonight, and maybe celebrate too much before Saturday’s match.

The game kicks off at 8 p.m. at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. FCK has won the cup twice, in 1990 and 1996. Their opponent captured the cup in 1993, so it has been a long time coming for both teams.

Kaiserslautern fans can watch the game at Stiftsplatz Saturday night, but only 7000 people will be admitted. Gates open at 7 p.m., an hour before the game starts.

On Sunday, regardless of the outcome of the match, the team will be celebrated on stage at Stiftsplatz. Gates open at 1 p.m., with live music and entertainment. The team is expected to take the stage around 5 p.m., with festivities concluding at 8 p.m.
