FCK ties Wiesbaden; fight to avoid relegation continues next week

F.C. Kaiserslautern led early but couldn’t close out against a struggling Wiesbaden team, ending the match 1-1 at Fritz Walter Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Filip Kaloc scored for the home side at the 30-minute mark following a corner kick, while Ivan Prtajin notched the equalizer with 15 minutes left to go in front of 42,861 fans. This was a critical game for FCK, which hoped to earn a three-point win that would vault them out of the relegation zone. Instead, Wiesbaden retains a little bit of a cushion from being relegated. It won’t get easier for the Red Devils on Saturday at 1 p.m. when they travel north to face top-ranked Kiel.
