Residents of an apartment building on the west side of Kaiserslautern noticed smoke coming from the second floor of the building Tuesday evening and notified the police. The dispatched patrol couldn’t find a fire but did find a burnt cellphone in an apartment oven. It seems a 44-year-old man was trying to dry his wet smartphone in the oven, according to Westpfalz police. Fortunately, there were no injuries or damages, except to the cell phone, and maybe a bit of embarrassment on the part of the owner.
