Here’s why you might want to pre-book parking at German airports

Those flying out of German airports this holiday season may face steep costs for parking their vehicle near the terminal, according to a report by the German Automobile Club ADAC. Prices at the nation’s major airports can vary widely. For short trips, terminal-close parking ranges from 49 euros in Munich to 129 euros in Duesseldorf. A three-day trip out of Frankfurt can cost as much as 107 euros. Experts recommend pre-booking parking spots online to ensure an available space and take advantage of significantly reduced rates. Shuttle parking further from the terminal also slashes cost often more than half in many cases. Public transportation unsurprisingly emerged as the most budget-friendly choice, the ADAC said, while car-sharing and taxi services also offer competitive rates.
