8:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, Japan time: A bit late with this. Kadena Air Base’s 18th Wing commanding officer has set seasonal Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness All Clear for U.S. bases on Okinawa as of one minute past midnight Dec. 1, signaling the end of the northwest Pacific’s tropical cyclone season. Seasonal TCCOR 4 will be issued again June 1, 2023 when the next season begins.

Other areas of the Pacific have either set the same TCCOR or have entered seasonal TCCOR 5, depending on command’s decision. Guam and other areas south of the Tropic of Cancer remain in seasonal TCCOR 4 year-round, being in the area where tropical cyclones are apt to form at any time.
