Frankfurt, Germany, April 17, 1949: Two children look unhappy to put all their eggs in one shared box during the annual Easter egg hunt. Children scoured the grounds of the Palmgarten, Frankfurt’s botanical palm garden, for eggs on Easter Sunday. Baskets, bags and boxes in hand, they ran around trying to find the rainbow-colored eggs in the hopes of finding most of them to take home one of the prizes given out for the most eggs found. The traditional Easter egg hunt was sponsored by the local Allied Women’s Club.
