Khe Sanh, South Vietnam, March 10, 1968: Marines lay down barbed wire on the perimeter of Khe Sanh base. North Vietnamese troops had been harassing the base in previous months with rockets, artillery and mortar fire. The enemy had been working its way closer to the base with some trench lines as close as 100 meters from the outer perimeter.
