Hue, South Vietnam, February 1968: A wounded Marine lies bleeding in a vacant villa as a fellow Marine, also wounded, tries to tend to his wounds. Several Marines from D Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, many of them wounded, took shelter in the villa after a fierce firefight with the enemy in the streets of Hue. U.S. Marines had been battling VC and NVA house by house, street by street, brick by brick in a bloody effort to retake the former capital of Vietnam and its Citadel.
