Yongdong-po, South Korea, Oct. 1958: Master Sgt. William J. Ward of the 13th Quartermaster Battalion holds a coffee pot and a clip board as he checks the inventory. Everything from map tacks to kitchen stock pots were “on sale” at the Quartermaster Self-Service Supply Center. The center — which looked like a stateside supermarket and was operated by the 13th Quartermaster Battalion — serviced all units in the Seoul, Inchon and Ascom area.
