Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, April 19, 2016: The sun rises over Camp Delta. Roughly 780 detainees have been held at the detention center since it opened in 2002. As per June 2023, 30 remain, 16 of which have been cleared for release. A United Nations investigation released in June found conditions inside the prison at Guantanamo Bay are cruel and inhumane.
