Que Son Valley, January 1968: Vietnamese women carry away wood and home goods in a village. Soldiers from the 1st Cavalry were conducting search and destroy operations in the area after an increase in activity from the North Vietnamese Army. Some huts in the village were destroyed because it stood in the “free fire zone” for the nearby Landing Zone Ross.
