Frankfurt, Germany, Oct. 27, 1955: Jazz musician Louis Armstrong smiles at the camera as he arrives at Frankfurt Rhein-Main airport. The world-famous trumpet and cornet player and scat singer performed at Frankfurt’s Congress Hall that evening with his latest collection of “All Stars.” The Frankfurt stopover was the next to last for the jazz ensemble. Berlin was last on the 12-city tour. Satchmo and his crew played two nights there.
