Fire Prevention Week was established in 1922 to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire, which burned Oct. 8-10, 1871. And, as in the past, military and civilian communities will join in the effort to prevent fires. In 2022 Fire Prevention Week is Oct. 9-15.
