Itazuke Air Base, Fukuoka, Japan, June 1971: The old Itazuke Tower sign gets a new paint job by an airman assigned to the southern Japan base. The five-foot high, 18-foot long, half-ton sign became famous during the Korean War when the “Itazuke Tower” song was published. Curious about the song? Listen to it here.
