Munich, West Germany, 1972: Dave Wottle of the U.S., wearing his trademark golf cap, lunges across the finish line to win the 800-meter race at the Olympic Games in what some consider one of the greatest comebacks in sports history. Wottle trailed the entire field with a lap to go but improbably rushed past the three leaders in the last 100 yards to claim the gold medal.
