South Vietnam, December 1967: Members of A Troop, 1/4th Cav., 1st Inf. Div., stand guard on their APC near 1/28th position at Bu Dop. On the side of their vehicle is a 4-foot reproduction of Engine 3017, one of the most famous steam engines in existence, built in 1929 for the Chicago and Northwestern Line. The crew call their track the “Iron Horse,” which is the same term used to describe engine 3017.
