Bosnia and Herzegovina, July 1996: Bosnian Rasema Ibralic, from the village of Medjas, shows her gratitude to U.S. peacekeepers by serving coffee to 2nd Lt. Ben Garret and other troops waiting on the side of the road near Tuzla Air Base. “If American troops wouldn’t have come, it would have been more terrible,” she said. “It (the deployment) saved a lot of people.” But Ibralic admitted that she was afraid of what might happen after the Americans leave.
