The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 9 in Detroit will present Selfridge Military Air Museum with a check for $2,000 in appreciation for the museum’s support of veterans.

“This is a result of the museum’s ‘Salute to Vietnam Veterans’ held last May,” said Ed Kaminski, deputy director of the museum.

The event held in May was a huge success.

Veterans, along with family members and guests, enjoyed the numerous displays featuring vehicles, aircraft and equipment that was used during the Vietnam War (1955-1975) along with chili dogs from National Coney Island along with sliders and other snacks from Mission BBQ, Faygo and Better Made.

Vietnam veterans received free admission to the museum.

“We’re going to repeat this next year, expanding it to all vets and hopefully get some interested companies to help sponsor it,” Kaminski said.
