(Tribune News Service) — Competitors and attendees at the Michigan Invention Convention on Saturday had the chance to engage in various aspects of Navy life via a range of virtual experiences, including a Digital Boot Camp, where participants can train alongside and compete against a digital Navy officer.

The Navy also featured a 360-degree photo booth, where attendees could capture themselves experiencing life on a real Navy ship. And there was a 20-foot-long panoramic backdrop of a massive Navy aircraft carrier that provided visitors with a unique location for a photo op.

"We are excited to be a part of Invention Convention Michigan and offer attendees some fun, interactive ways to learn more about today's Navy," said Cmdr. David Benham, director of public affairs for Navy Recruiting Command. "We look forward to meeting with students and teachers and being a part of this unique event."
