The Coast Guard found and rescued two stranded boaters Saturday near Hopedale, La., the service said in a news release.

Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received notification at 10:30 p.m. Friday about two overdue boaters last reported aboard a 23-foot recreational vessel in the Hopedale area. 

The Coast Guard launched an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and a 29-foot Response Boat to search the area.

The helicopter crew located the disabled vessel early Saturday morning, hoisted the two distressed boaters aboard the helicopter and transported them to Hopedale Marina in St. Bernard, La. The boaters were last reported to be in stable condition.
