GRAFENWOEHR, Germany — Eight U.S. soldiers in Vilseck are recovering after their transport vehicle overturned while heading to a range at this sprawling Army training center in Bavaria.

The crash occurred Thursday when the driver lost control of a light medium tactical vehicle while turning onto a forest road from One Community Road, according to a statement from U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria on Monday.

Two soldiers required an overnight hospital stay, while the remaining six were released from the hospital the same day, the garrison statement said.

They belong to the 2nd Cavalry Regiment, which is headquartered at Rose Barracks in Vilseck.

The range road connecting Vilseck and the Grafenwoehr area was closed for several hours because of the crash, which is still being investigated.
