(Tribune News Service) — The Airmen of Note, the United States Air Force Band’s premier jazz ensemble, is set to embark on a seven-day tour across Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota, officials announced Monday.

The Airmen of Note, one of six performing ensembles within The United States Air Force Band, is based at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C. The tour is designed to honor the service of airmen past and present, showcasing the global efforts of military members.

“We are excited to bring the band to Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota,” said Chief Master Sgt. Brian MacDonald, Flight Chief and split lead trumpet of the Airmen of Note. “Performing live and meeting communities around the country is a regular highlight of our mission. We look forward to sharing America’s unique music with the local community in each city!”

Free public performances are scheduled in several cities, with tickets required for attendance. Details and ticket information are available on the official website, music.af.mil/Bands/The-United-States-Air-Force-Band/Events/.

The tour kicks off Wednesday, May 1, at Sentinel High School in Missoula, Mont., at 7 p.m., followed by performances in Butte, Bozeman, and Billings, Mont.; Sheridan and Gillette, Wyo.; and concludes in Rapid City, S.D., on Tuesday, May 7.
