(Tribune News Service) — Oh, that boom above.

The 2023 Cleveland National Air Show is just about ready for its Labor Day Weekend showcase, filling Northeast Ohioans’ need for speed Sept. 2 through 4 at Burke Lakefront Airport.

The 2023 headliners are the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, which will be joined by the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor, the U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier, U.S. Navy F/A -18 Super Hornet and more, according to a news release for the event.

Since 1964, the event has brought tens of thousands to the airport, with the release stating an annual economic impact of more than $7.1 million on the city.

The show also features an appearance by someone the release refers to as “the stuff of legends”: Patty Wagstaff, a three-time U.S. National Aerobatics Champion and a six-time member of the U.S. Aerobatics team, who has won gold, silver, and bronze medals in the International Aerobatic Competition. In 1991, she became the first woman to become the U.S. National Aerobatic Champion. Wagstaff has been inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame and her plane, the Goodrich Extra 260, is on display at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum, the release states.

Lastly, Tom Larkin will remind everyone you shouldn’t count out the little guy. Larkin will fly a mini jet, which, according to the release, weighs only 500 pounds but travels up to 300 mph and is fully aerobatic. This will be Larkin’s first time at the Cleveland show.

Day-specific general-admission tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for children 6 to 11, while those 5 and younger are free. Other ticket options are available, as is the purchase of on-site parking. However, note all sales must be made in advance at clevelandairshow.com. According to the release, there will be no gate sales.
