KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany — Twenty-one players from 14 DODDS-Europe schools across five countries have been named to the 2014 All-Europe volleyball teams, announced Thursday by DODDS-Europe athletic director Karen Seadore.

The diverse group includes 10 players from schools based in Germany, eight from Italy and one apiece from the United Kingdom, Spain and Belgium. No school earned more than the three selections apiece garnered by Division I champion Wiesbaden and close runner-up Naples.

Newly named 2014 Stars and Stripes volleyball Athlete of the Year Leah Rojas and teammate Adriana Ibanez made the first team for Wiesbaden, while Ellen Tafoya was named to the second team. First-teamers Jessica Wheeler and Sierra Dye and second-teamer Aundrea Hall made up the Naples contingent.

Vicenza, Ramstein and Patch each placed two players on the All-Europe roster.

Seniors took 11 of the 21 spots, including seven of 12 on the first team, while juniors accounted for seven more. Three sophomores made the cut, including first-team selections Janey Greenberg of Patch and Naples’ Dye.
