The Air Force has identified an airman who died Sunday after falling from a fifth-story window at Kadena Air Base, Japan.

Airman 1st Class Kelly Tomfohrde, 22, assigned to the 115th Fighter Wing of the Wisconsin Air National Guard, was taken to nearby U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa at Camp Foster, where she was pronounced dead late Sunday night.

Tomfohrde, of Auburndale, Wis., was a student at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, according to the Air Force.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Airman Tomfohrde's family and friends during this difficult time," 115th Fighter Wing commander Col. Jeffrey Wiegand said in a news release.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
