Champoux named 8th Army commanding general in Korea

Maj. Gen. Bernard S. Champoux. He was nominated in December 2012 for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as commanding general of the 8th U.S. Army and chief of staff of the Combined Forces Command in South Korea.

The Department of Defense announced last week that U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Bernard S. Champoux has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as commanding general of the 8th U.S. Army and chief of staff of the Combined Forces Command in South Korea.

Champoux currently serves as the 8th Army deputy commanding general, and assistant chief of staff, U.N. Command, Combined Forces Command.
