TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — The Gulf Coast Salute Air Show is returning to Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida's Panhandle after a three-year absence.

Base officials tell The News Herald that the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will be a highlight of the show schedule April 11-12, 2015.

The U.S. Army Golden Knights also will participate in the two-day event. Maj. Gregory Preisser says the next Gulf Coast Salute Air Show will be "a diverse show which should fascinate spectators of all ages."

The 2012, 2013 and 2014 shows were canceled, and Tyndall officials said in December 2012 that they had decided to stop planning the event after reviewing mission requirements and their spending of taxpayer dollars.

The Bay County event has periodically been canceled through the years for a variety of reasons.
