Soldierfit, a functional fitness and training facility that now has with three locations in Maryland and hopes to expand nationwide, is focusing on former servicemembers by offering them 50 percent off the initial franchising fee.

"One of the things we are trying to do is get veterans involved," said Danny Farrar, a co-founder of Soldierfit. "We’ve learned franchises are places where veterans thrive because it allows them to come in and basically work within an SOP (Strategic Organization Plan) ... It’ll be no different than (being) a company commander.”

"Our goal is to revitalize the American Dream.”

Farrar is a nine-year veteran of the Army and Army Reserves, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division and the Old Guard at Fort Myer. He was a member of the first team that went into the Pentagon for remains removal after 9/11.
