Combine the ride and feel of America’s favorite motorcycle with some of Germany’s most stunning scenery throughout the weekend during the 12th edition of Magic Bike Rüdesheim.

Tens of thousands of Harley-Davidson owners will descend upon the UNESCO-listed Middle Rhine Valley area to show off their rides and enjoy live music and shows in the company of fans of American cycles from far and wide. The program kicked off Thursday with a group ride and continues Friday afternoon with a stunt show and an evening concert by the present-day incarnation of the legendary British rock band The Sweet (9 p.m., Eventgelände, Rüdesheim old town, tickets 23 euros, or about $30).

Another program highlight will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, with the parade of bikes that departs from Rüdesheim and winds its way through the Rheingau region as far as Eltville and Hallgarten. Those traveling by car may experience road closures during this time; an alternative is to arrive by train. Bikers need not sign up in advance to participate in the parade. Fireworks go off to the beat of a musical soundtrack at 11 p.m.

A religious service for the bikers will take place at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, and riders will start making their way home at about 3 p.m. For more info, see www.magic-bike-ruedesheim.com. Pages are available in English.
