St. Wendel, in Germany’s northeast Saarland, is the site of an international competition of street magicians Friday through Sunday.
Zauberhaftes St. Wendel hosts 16 magicians from around the world, including two from the U.S. Each entertainer gives a performance lasting about 20 minutes at each of four venues scattered throughout the compact and charming medieval town.
The competition takes place from 2 p.m. to midnight Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, followed by a ceremony for the victor at 8 p.m. On Sunday, Family Day, artists give non-competitive performances throughout the pedestrian zone. Learn more at www.sankt-wendel.de (English option available).
