Copenhagen’s Tivoli Gardens’ cozy ambience attracts visitors in droves who come to enjoy the park’s rides, food-and-drink stands, bars and restaurants — all set against the backdrop of lovingly landscaped ponds and gardens. Those who time their visits for Friday evenings also can enjoy live music. Throughout the summer, the park will stage open-air concerts every Friday at 10 p.m., part of a program known as Friday Rocks.

Performers include stars of the past to up-and-coming bands. Although most are Danish groups popular in their own country, international names take the stage, too.

Concerts run through Sept. 20. Friday Rocks concerts are free when visitors pay the park admission cost, and visitors of all ages are welcome. Entrance tickets to Tivoli are 95 Danish krone ($16.60) when bought before 8 p.m. each Friday, or 135 krone afterward. The entrance ticket does not cover the cost of rides.
