Basel Museum Night in Basel, Switzerland, offers the opportunity to experience exhibitions and events from three countries in a single evening. A total of 32 museums and 10 cultural institutions within the tri-border area of Switzerland, Germany and France put on an array of events beginning Friday at 6 p.m.

Fans of Edgar Degas’ ballerinas can see the artist’s work and check out live dance performances at the Fondation Beyeler. Dog owners can have their pets try an agility course at the Klingental exhibition area. The Jordanian city of Petra stars in an exhibit at the Antikenmuseum. An Arabian-Andalusian orchestra, accompanied by a belly dancing demonstration, will be featured at the Papiermühle.

From 2 a.m. Saturday, a handful of venues host after-hours parties. Entry is free to all museum pass holders.

Museum passes cost 20 Swiss francs or 17 euros (about $22) and include transportation between participating venues. Possible modes of travel include not only bus but also boat or an antique tram. Passes may be purchased at the participating museums. Museum Night is free for those 25 and younger.
