TOKYO — Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific awarded a $62 million contract to Nan Inc. of Honolulu for the construction of a new Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command facility at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, according to a Navy news release.

The fixed-price contract includes plans for the construction of a three-story building that will house an identification laboratory, administrative office spaces, training spaces and a warehouse, the release said.

With its state-of-the-art Central Identification Laboratory, the new building — expected to be completed in July 2013 — will be one of the premiere facilities in the world, according to Maj. Gen. Stephen Tom, head of the command.
