KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany — Three International Security Assistance Force servicemembers died Monday following an improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan.

It is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.

With this incident, there have been 20 coalition fatalities in what constitutes Regional Command-East, which covers some of the most dangerous territory in Afghanistan, the worst being the July 13 suicide bomb attack on French troops in Kapisa province.

Across Afghanistan, 37 coalition troops have been killed in July, according to The Associated Press.
