An International Security Assistance Force helicopter made a hard landing Thursday in eastern Afghanistan, according to a news release.

ISAF is still in the process of assessing the circumstances, but says that initial reporting indicates there was no enemy activity in the area. All crew members have been recovered with no reported fatalities, and the site of the incident is secure.

There were reports of minor injuries, but those troops had been safely evacuated.

Sources told Stars and Stripes the aircraft involved was a Chinook CH-47 and that it might have had problems with its night optics before setting down.
