WHITE BEACH, Okinawa — Marines and sailors with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit departed Tuesday to conduct exercises in the Asia-Pacific Region.

The unit is to participate in several annual exercises, including bilateral training with the Philippine, South Korean and Japanese militaries.

Elements of the unit also are to participate next week in the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the U.S. military’s landing at Inchon, South Korea, during the Korean War.

The 31st MEU due to return to Okinawa in early December.
