Kadena Air Base on Okinawa will conduct five days of readiness training beginning Monday, according to the 18th Air Wing public affairs office.
The training will include mobilization practice, sirens, ground-burst simulators and smoke canisters beginning around Wednesday, the Air Force said.
Sound-generating equipment will not be used at night, and senior military leaders reviewed the use of training tools such as smoke to reduce effects on surrounding communities on Okinawa.
Similar training is conducted routinely at Air Force bases worldwide, according to a press release sent Friday.
