YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan — Naval Air Facility Atsugi will open its gates to its Japanese neighbors Aug. 20 for the annual American and Bon Odori festivals.
The American Festival starts at noon at Reid Field with games, food and drink, a hamburger-eating contest, musical performances and a Muay Thai exhibition, according to the NAF Atsugi website.
The Bon Odori portion of the festival — which includes traditional Japanese dances to welcome home and entertain returning ancestral spirits — will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
