CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. — The second round of the All-Armed Forces men’s basketball tournament began Friday exactly opposite of the way the first round opened, thanks to the hot shooting hand of Ronald Bartley of South Korea’s Yongsan Garrison.

The All-Armed Forces shooting guard sizzled from deep, netting seven three-point goals and scoring a game-high 33 points to boost All-Army past the All-Marine team 87-77 and handing the Leathernecks their first loss in four games.

Army improved to 2-2.

It was sweet revenge for an Army team that lost the tournament’s opening game 99-66 to the Marines three days earlier.

Army missed its first 11 shots in the opening half and led by just one point, 35-34, at halftime. Bartley added 10 rebounds. All-Armed Forces player Craig Marcelin of Schweizengen, Germany, contributed 22 points.

Meanwhile, Air Force secured its first victory in four tries in the tournament, drubbing Navy 80-63. Navy fell to 2-2.
