American Forces Network Europe will air a live broadcast Saturday of the girls and boys high school basketball games between Naples and Vicenza.

The broadcast starts at 10 a.m. on AFN Vicenza, channel 14 on AFN decoders. The girls play first, followed by the boys. All four teams are battling for Region IV titles this season and will have played each other for the first time Friday night.

It’s believed to be the first time in more than a decade that a local AFN affiliate has televised a regular-season game, according to Aaron Talley, AFN Vicenza operations manager, who said the broadcast has two purposes: entertainment for customers who can’t make it to the games in Vicenza and training for AFN broadcasters.
