An officials clinic and the season-opening track meet for U.S. Forces athletes is scheduled for May 9-12 at the new track in Grafenwöhr, Germany.

Registration for athletes begins at 9 a.m. May 12. All adult Department of Defense ID card holders are eligible.

It is IMCOM-Europe’s first meet of season. The U.S. Forces championships are scheduled for July 28 at Regensburg’s Track Complex near Hohenfels, Germany.

[/BOXHEADER]The USAFE men’s team lost to Germany’s Luftwaffe squad 79-76 Thursday night in the championship game of the Combined Command Air Headquarters Ramstein basketball tournament in Poznan, Poland

Germany’s victory was its second straight title-game triumph over USAFE in the annual six-nation tournament.

It also completed a German sweep of the tourney titles. Germany’s women battered the Royal Netherlands Air Force team 75-32 earlier Thursday. According to USAFE sports official Debra Ponzio, duty commitments prevented a USAFE women’s team from competing.
