MONS, Belgium — Andrew Fitzpatrick converted a penalty kick, and Kyle Borda saved one Saturday to help the visiting Ramstein Royals earn a 1-1 tie in a non-regional soccer game against the defending European D-I champion SHAPE Spartans.

The game, which showcased each team’s defensive prowess, according to Ramstein coach Dan Nukala, was scoreless at halftime.

Both teams are unbeaten going into spring break. SHAPE (1-0-1) next plays April 30 at home against AFNORTH in a Region I game. Ramstein (1-0-1) next plays at Baumholder on April 23 in a Region II showdown.
