BAMBERG, Germany – Janelle Loney added 55 points to her record-threatening season points total Friday and Saturday as the Patch Lady Panthers took two games from the defending European Division II champion Bamberg Lady Barons, 57-20 and 56-20.

But payback came swiftly as Bamberg’s boys claimed 58-49 and 44-42 victories over Patch to remain unbeaten for the season and in Region III.

Loney struck for 30 points, nine rebounds and five assists in Friday’s game and 25 points, five rebounds and five assists on Saturday. As has been the case all season for Patch (5-1 overall and 4-0 in Region III), Bianca Lopez joined Loney in excelling. Lopez’s line on Friday was 16 points, five steals and four assists; on Saturday it read 16 points, seven steals and four assists.

Bamberg fell to 0-3, 0-2 despite 14 points on Friday and 14 rebounds on Saturday from Diandra Quashie.

Quadell Webb made the scoring difference for the Bamberg boys (3-0, 2-0). Webb chalked up 22 points on Friday and 16 in Saturday’s tight-fit victory. Brian Hargreaves also came up huge, posting 13 points and eight rebounds on Friday and 11 points on Saturday.

Shaquille Hunter led the scoring for Patch (2-4, 2-2) in both games – 14 on Friday and 10 on Saturday.

Next up for Bamberg are games Friday against visiting Ansbach. Saturday, the Barons and Lady Barons journey to Mannheim for non-regional match-ups. Patch’s Panthers and Lady Panthers are scheduled to host Hohenfels on Friday and Saturday for games which were snowed out on Dec. 10-11.
