Perhaps the youngest and least experienced team Summers has fielded. Hit hard by graduation and transfer, the Panthers must replace five players who contributed 49 goals and 25 assists.

Nile C. Kinnick Red Devils2015 season record — 21-4-0, Far East Division I Tournament runner-up.Coach — Nicolas Hindie, 14th season.Key performers — Kiralyn Kawachi, Sr., MF (All-Far East); Allee Vincent, Jr., GK; Ella Eisenhardt, So., MF (All-Far East Best Defender).Outlook — Always contending, but with a sense of urgency this season as many on this young team are slated to transfer at year’s end.

Kubasaki Dragons2016 season record — 21-2-2, three-time defending Far East D-I champion.Coach — Steven Casner, first season.Key performers — Reiko Lemasters, Sr., MF (All-Far East); Lexi Klimek, Jr., GK; Tasher Odom, Jr., def.; Dasani Rolle, Jr., def.; Myca Ingram, So., F (34 goals, 5 assists); Da’Zha Loney, So., def./MF; Audrey Kerr, Fr.; Jenna Smith, Jr. (transferred from Indiana); Marissa Wagner, Fr.Outlook — Contending, but this is a much younger team than the previous three championship squads. A solid core remains in place, but replacing four starters who contributed 35 goals and 25 assists won’t be easy.

Seoul American Falcons2016 season record — 12-9-1, fifth at Far East Division I.Coach — Francine Imrie, first season, assisted by last year’s head coach Jonathan Brooks.Key performers — Fran Vido, Sr., F (8 goals); Natalie Cargill, Jr., F (35 goals, 6 assists, All-Far East, Golden Boot); MK Dunleavy, So., def.; Nina Furner, So., def.; Sierra Furner, Sr., def. (back after missing two seasons with injury); Fabiola Nigaglioni, Jr., def./MF (transferred from Vicenza, Italy).Outlook — Reloading. Daegu Warriors2016 season record — 0-15-1.Coach — Phil Inman, second season.Key performers — Laura Lee, Sr., MF/F; Yenah Joe, Sr., MF/F; Sarah Spavins, capt., Sr., F; Ashley Clifton, So., F (transferred from Seoul American); Ciera Davis, Sr., F; Natalie Garrido, So., F; Irene Halferty, Sr., def.; Mary Sarantakes, So., MF; Susan Schroeder, Jr., F; Liliana Royer, Sr., def.; Neena Ibit, Jr., GK; Yasmin Guilfoyle, So., MF; Mylisse Spurgon, Fr., def./MF.Outlook — Rebuilding-reloading. After a building year in 2016, the Warriors are more experienced and possess more depth, thanks to the influx of players like Clifton. Inman says the Warriors hope to contend within Korea Blue and D-II.

Robert D. Edgren Eagles2016 season record — 6-12-2, fifth in Far East Division II.Coach — Paul McCarthy, first season.Key performers — Lizzy Long, Sr., MF; Josie Dooley, Sr., MF; Roma Alvord, Sr., GK; Vicky Lucero, Sr., MF/sweeper; Ciana Bird, Sr., MF.Outlook — Rebuilding. Hampered, as always, by Misawa Air Base’s lengthy winters and limited outdoor practice until April. McCarthy moves over from track and field. Much work needs to be done on fundamentals. It may take time, but McCarthy hopes the Eagles can be competitive by DODEA-Japan and D-II.

Humphreys Blackhawks2016 season record — 3-16-1.Coach — Joshua Henry, second season.Key performers — Isabella Nocera, Sr., F (6 goals); Haile Harris, Sr., F; Elayna Snyder, Sr., GK.Outlook — Rebuilding. Team is now in its fourth season and perhaps possesses more players than at any time in school history. Many players with little experience, but some possess speed and natural athleticism; a matter of how the young mix with the veterans.

E.J. King Cobras2016 season record — 1-20-2.Coach — Kylee Venetsanakos, second season.Key performers — Aisha Rogers, Sr., F; Aika Talevera, Sr., F); Natalie Shultz, Jr., def.; Gabi Shultz, Fr., MF.Outlook — Reloading-contending. In its fifth season of existence as a high school program, the Cobras are already off to their best start in school history at 3-2-2 and the younger Shultz already has six goals and four assists.

Osan Cougars2016 season record — 16-3-2, second at Far East tournament.Coach — Sung Plourde, 16th season.Key performers — Haille Nugent, Sr., GK/MF; Natalyah Shaw, Sr., MF; Elizabeth White, So., F (12 goals); Monique Wilson, So., def.; Grayce Woods, Jr., def.; Allyson Marek, Sr., MF (transferred from Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas); Maja Inthavixay, So., MF; Jana Rafi, Jr., F; Ana Rasch, Jr., def; Danielle Dawson, Jr., def.Outlook — Rebuilding. Cougars hoping to extend their D-II Tournament title record to nine, but it will take growth, and quickly, from new pieces put in place; Marek may be the best all-around new athlete of the bunch. Plourde rolling the dice by putting Nugent in goal for the first time.

Matthew C. Perry Samurai2016 season record — 22-2-3, third in Far East Division II.Coach — George Tarleton, second season.Key performers — Bobbi Hill, Sr., F (66 goals, 18 assists; 108 goals in three seasons; three-times All-Far East, Golden Boot in 2015 and 2016); Sakura Fleming, Sr., MF (13 goals, 6 assists); Lebet Erhart, Sr., def. (All-Far East in 2016); Angel Cadavos, Jr., GK-MF; Devon Shuman, Sr., def./MF.Outlook — Contending. Plenty of ability and depth, core has not changed, upperclassmen have much pedigree; roster is much younger, but the freshmen are girding to support the seniors, Tarleton says. Continuity in coaching, as Tarleton assisted previous four years before taking reins.

Yokota Panthers2016 season record — 14-11-2, two-time defending Far East Tournament champion.Coach — Matt Whipple, 12th season.Key performers — Regina Dukat, Jr., MF (11 goals, 12 assists; 21 and 24 in two seasons; two times All-Far East); Jamia Bailey, Jr., F (16 goals; 34 in two seasons; two times All-Far East); Ai Robbins, Jr., F (11 goals; 17 in two seasons); Catherine Funk, Sr., def.; Kendall Boone, Jr., def.; Elly Garcia, Sr., def.; Alex Morales, Sr., def.; Hana Peterson, Jr., def.; Emily Taynton, Fr., GK.Outlook — Contending. Eight players return from last year’s team that repeated the D-II title 1-0 over Osan in a shootout. The one question seems to be in goal, where untested Taynton replaces departed Kayla and Sarah Cronin.

Zama Trojans2016 season record — 15-7-4, sixth in Far East Tournament.Coach — Manuel Duarte, fourth season.Key performers — Rachel Norton, Jr., F (34 goals, 6 assists); Amanda Stephens, Sr., F (9 goals, 5 assists); Isabella Malovic, Sr., MF; Siobhan Grabski, So., def.Outlook — Rebuilding. Though nine total players return from last season, this may be the youngest team Duarte has had, with just six starters and three total seniors.
