Kubasaki Dragons

2018 season record — 2-5.
Head coach — Fred Bales, 15th season, Overall record 47-44, five Okinawa Athletics & Activities Council titles (2005, 2011-12, 2014-15), two D-I titles (2005, 2013).
Returning players — 6.
Returning starters — 5.
Key performers — Haydn Peterson, Sr., RB-LB; Lucas Kappen, Sr., QB; Malik Brown, L; Sebastian Stone, So., L; Clint Reventlow, Sr., TE-LB; Elijah Ferrell, So., WR-DB (transferred from Guam).
Strengths — Good leadership from a small core of seniors. More big players up front than the Dragons have had in a few seasons. Character, enthusiasm, commitment from all 32 players.
Drawbacks — Lack of depth, inexperience throughout skills positions.
Overview — Rebuilding. A good, young squad with plenty of potential to grow, and quite a bit of size in the interior, but injuries could derail things since there’s such little depth. Could also be Bales’ last season; has stated his intention to retire after this school year.
