KADENA AIR BASE, Okinawa – Isaiah Hart scored touchdowns on defense and special teams and Kadena’s defense forced three fumbles and picked off four passes in a 42-0 shutout of Kinser on Saturday.

With the win, the Dragons (5-0) extended their lead to a full game over Hansen (4-1) in the U.S. Forces Japan-American Football League standings. The Kings fell to 2-4, two games ahead of last-place Foster (0-6); the defending league champions did not play this season due to duty commitments and transfers.

Kadena has outscored opponents 96-6 this season and has not allowed an offensive touchdown. On Saturday, the Dragons allowed just three first downs and the ball crossed the 50-yard line once.

Among the game’s key plays, Hart ran back an interception 40 yards for a touchdown and returned a punt 64 yards for a score. Edward Billingsley also returned a pick-six 12 yards for a TD.

On offense, Gregory Sargeant tossed a 25-yard touchdown pass to Riichiro Shinjo and Donovin Beasley ran a wide-receiver reverse 65 yards for a TD.

One game remains on the regular-season schedule, Kadena vs. Hansen at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Courtney Bowl. “A possible preview of the championship game” scheduled for June 10, Crowe said.

The league playoffs begin June 3 with the second-place team playing third place. The regular-season champion gets a bye and hosts the Torii Bowl on June 10.
